NKU's Department of Communication offers students one of the more diverse experiences on campus. Located in the College of Informatics, the department's programs combine intimate classroom settings, personalized instruction, project-based learning and deep theoretical research:

In this academic and applied department, students will work on research and projects as varied as running PR campaigns for regional non-profits, building Flash websites, developing focus groups, analyzing corporate communication structures and writing news stories.

However, instruction isn't confined to the classroom. The Department of Communication works with a host of student-run organizations that foster a supportive, social atmosphere and provides an opportunity to build real-world experience through internships.

Our award-winning faculty are committed to your success through:

  • teaching in classes small enough to focus on you
  • offering numerous practical work opportunities
  • assigning coursework that builds a portfolio employers want to see
  • connecting you with beneficial industry contacts

Once you graduate from the Department of Communication, you'll be connected with a vast alumni network who work as our ambassadors to the world.
